Hi all,

I am playing around with speaker placement and have a few questions to ask. Any advice would be appreciated.

Would it be better to give my speakers breathing room and sacrifice a loss in bass from them, then use the sub to fill the low end?

or

Move speakers to original position closer to the wall where they have more bass, and still use sub but have the crossover set higher on sub.

Every room is different so a bit of trial and error is needed. Move it around and see where it sounds best. Generally they sound boomy when placed in corners though.

Try putting the subwoofer on your listening chair then walk around the room (and put your head at floor level). Once you find a place where it sounds good move the subwoofer to that position and sit back in your chair and it's likely to sound 'right'. Well it's worth a try anyway.
