that being said I see no reason why the CX81 shouldn't be able to drive the KEFs.Unless I have misunderstood something, only active speakers and the few amplifiers able to digitally alter the high and low level crossovers between the main speakers and the sub can lessen the load on any passive speaker, such as the LS50.
