I have the Cambridge CX81, SVS sub with B&W 606 S2's which are a bit bright. Was going to change to the LS50's but concerned if the 80w torodial amp would have enough power. The LS50'S are rated 85db. I was under the impression the powered subwoofer would reduce some of the load. Everything I own is new so exchanging is not a problem.

Unless I have misunderstood something, only active speakers and the few amplifiers able to digitally alter the high and low level crossovers between the main speakers and the sub can lessen the load on any passive speaker, such as the LS50.

that being said I see no reason why the CX81 shouldn't be able to drive the KEFs.
Cannot comment on the sound of the pairing though.
