From the awards issue I finally took the plunge and have bought a Panasonic TH-42PX70 to go with the Sony RDR-HXD970 recorder I obtained a couple of months ago. Really pleased and managed to support my local retailer as he was doing a promotion for a free five year Panasonic guarantee which meant it worked out less per month than I was spending on renting. However, now to my latest problem. I have just purchased a Chord Silver Plus HDMI cable to improve the picture quality but cannot work out all of the options on speakers. Obviously I don't want one with a dvd player but I am at a bit of a loss as to whether I need a receiver, amp, subwoofers, etc or can I just go for a speaker package? Looking through the buy smarter section at style speakers there is again a huge choice but was looking at the Jamo A102, the KEF 1005 or the Tannoy SFX 5.1.
Anyone out there have any experience of these and could recommend them? The room is approximately 20 x 14 feet (old money) with the TV in one corner.
