I'm looking at buying my first AV amp and am trying to decide between the STRDA3500 (£350) or STRDH810 (£280) or STRDN1000 (£250) from RS. Personally I like the 1000 for its sleek looks but appreciate its not what I'm buying it for. The 810 is a current model so 3D ready but I'm not sold on 3D in the home yet. Looking to stick with Sony for the single remote and Bavia Link.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Looking to pair it with Boston Acoustics Soundware XS, Virgin V+, Sony BluRay, Sony KDL46EX503, and Wii

G4RY,

Between the 3 amps you have mentioned, I would definitely go with the STR-DA3500ES.

However, if you are able to get hold of a STR-DA2400ES from RS at a good price, then that would be my choice. You would also save money.

Don't bother, the Str-da2400es at RS are all refurbished ones, I've checked them all.

If not, they have given me wrong information.

Seen a STRDA2400ES advertised for £199 at amazon but suggests a 1 - 3 month delivery. The price is attractive though!!

Settled for a STRDA2400 from Amazon for £199. This should do for a first amp and my initial footsteps into proper Home Cinema. More money to buy better cable as well as it's gonna be burried in the wall and won't be easy to upgrade in the future!!

Thanks for the advice.
