Sony STR- DA2400 ES Bi Amping Question

Please can anyone tell me if they have tried the bi amp option on this amp. I have now bi amped my MS 902i speakers to the receiver. It sounds good, but the treble seems to be slightly overpowering, compared to when the speakers were not bi amped. I just wondered if this a normal side effect of bi amping, with the amp sorting out the hi & low frequencies independently. Thanks in advance Ted

I have one of these. I haven't had the same issue though and can't find any reference in the literature that suggests that the amp does any splitting of frequencies in bi-amp mode. The manual actually states that either the hi or low frequency terminals on the speakers can be connected to either the front or surr back terminals on the amp, it makes no difference. Maybe the extra presence in the treble is a characteristic of your speakers when you separate the drivers by removing the links for bi-amping.

I will try the speakers again tomorrow without bi amping. I not sure if this can be done just by turning off bi amping on the receiver, or would I also have to disconnect the extra wiring and put the 'jumper bars' back in place on the speakers?
