Sony KDL40W4500 Help

Hey I purchased this TV a few months and today I noticed what looked
like a dead pixel. So I ran my finger over it and its a tiny crack in
the actual panel or is this what dead pixels are?

I have
a 5year guarantee with this Tv but will Sony repair it or replace it?
ive heard that they have stopped making this model so will I be
downgraded?

You will find it very hard to prove that this has not happened in the months that you have had the set. You need to get onto the retailer very quickly to try and get this resolved. If this is not covered by your guarantee, then the tv would be a write-off as fitting a new panel would cost almost as much as a new tv. By the way, this is not by your description, a dead pixel, you cannot feel these.
