Sony KDL37-503EX Audio over internet frustration!!!!!!1

Hi, Unwrapped and plugged in my Sony KDL37-503EX with much anticipation of enjoying movies streamed via LoveFilm. Picture quality was as expected - not brilliant but ok. However, NO audio!! I quickly realised that the audio wasn't being sent to my amp. So i had to un-mute my TV to listen to the streamed content. Am i missing something or is that the ethernet connection will not send audio to my amp??? Any body help with this???

How's the TV audio connected to the amp?

Hi Andrew,

The TV connects to the amp via HDMI to my Denon Avr 1909.

The TV can't send the audio to the amp over HDMI, you'll need to make another connection (either twin phono or optical digital).

Incidentally, some TVs and amps now include 'Audio Return Channel' functionality, so that you can use the same HDMI cable both ways.

As above - you'll need an optical digital out from the TV to the receiver, as the receiver can't accept audio back from the TV over HDMI.
