I have recently bought this tv and i am happy with it,i have Sky HD so i watch the football in HD and the picture quality is superb ! people say lcds have motion problems but i have never had any problems with motion on any of my Sony lcd tv's bought my first 40" 2 years ago,i had first bought the 52w4500 model but that had problems with clouding so i bought the w4000 instead and this one has no problems with clouding

LCDs look so different to plasmas. You still might get the Pioneer 508XD for around £1600.

If the cost of the Pioneer is a issue I would look in the direction of the Panasonic plasma range say something likr the TH50PZ80 for starters as I am with REWERB in that if you have gotten used to you older Pioneer Plasma you most probably will not like the picture on a LCD as it is very differant to that of a Plasma.
