Sony HT-SF2300 or Sony HT-DDW5000

Hi,

My cousin is a loyal Sony buyer who recently bought an Sony 46 inch full hd lcd tv & Sony BDP-S300 blu-ray player but now he is confused whether to buy Sony HT-SF2300 or HT-DDW5000. Well its clear that non of these avr supports TrueHD or any hd formats but still can you tell me that which one of these two is a better option? Also what can be done to make these avr's replicate full hd sound? Now before you suggest any other Sony models, let me tell you that HT-SF2300 & HT-DDW5000 are the only avr systems from sony which are currently available in India. Thanks!!!

I don't know anything about the DDW5000 model but I do know that the Euro HT-SF2300 supports HD audio over HDMI (LPCM) providing of course your Bluray player has the necessary HD audio decoding on board. I'm afraid finding out about Asian Sony models is quite difficult which might explain the lack of replies to your post. Good luck.
