sony bdps760 audio set up

I am trying to set up the audio on a sony bdps760 to play via hdmi to a sony kdl46z5500 I will be using the tv speakers only, using ven den hul flat 1.5m lead,and a tachima mains conditioner. I am not interested in any kind of surround sound i just want 2 channel stereo.i am trying all the different audio settings in the manual but its driving me nuts! please help.

What exactly is the problem? Are you getting no sound?

Thanks, i am getting sound, but i cannot figure out the best settings for the mix or direct and the drc settings.the audio (hdmi) setting should it be in auto or 2ch pcm and the downmix for dts and dolby digital will it work via hdmi?

Personally I would set it to 2ch PCM, and let the bdp do the conversion. And I'm pretty sure the down mix for dts and dolby will work via hdmi. I've run DVDs staraight to my kuro via hdmi and it seems to work ok.
