Sony BDP370 and .avi files - help needed

Could someone help please?

I can put .avi files on a USB stick, plug it into the player, and watch quite happily. However, when the player is connected to the network, and sees my NAS (Buffalo Linkstation) which has the same .avi files on it, the player will not play them (and comes up with an error message of "no playable files").

Does anyone know why one playback path is available to me, but another is not?

I think you will find that some of the Sony's can only handle certain files through USB not DNLA.

See the spec for the 380 here and look at how litttle is available through the network.

Check your manual- it will probably read the same.
