I have had the 370 for close to 5 years now and having recently also had a 790 and a 7200 and having the opportunity to compare them, I am astounded by good a blu-ray player the 370 still is!

I sold both the 790 and 7200.

As long as a Blu-ray player isn't doing anything it shouldn't, then 1080p/24 content output over HDMI should be identical from one player to another. So my Oppo 103D is no better than your Sony for blu ray video playback if I don't employ any artificial processing.

Hi BB,

The point I wanted to make was that despite comparing a budget player that was 5 years old against much newer, higher end and more expenseive players from the same stable (5 years is a long time in technology speak), the performance of the 370 still remains outstanding. Yes, the 790 and 7200 bith have a weightier sound but in terms of outright picture quality, the newer players look identical to the 370 - I expected to see a big jump in picture quality but did not see that.
