Just got back from ASDA where I just bought the Sony BDP-S350 for £175 with Hancock, Wall-E and Mamma Mia in the box included in the price, a pretty good deal I feel.

bballtom:Set it up last night, Wall - E looks great at 1080p!

I thought that was a great deal until I saw in last nights Evening Standard an ad from Richer Sounds. They have the 350 for £169 and two films and the 550 for £219 and two films inc also!!!

There are tons of deals around - my Dad picked up the 350 from Blockbuster for £199, including SIX films: WallE, Iron Man, Hancock, Mammia Mia, Casino Royale and Kung Fu Panda, i believe. He's very chuffed with his instant Blu-ray library (well, instant apart from the two discs he has to send off for from Sony!)

Yeah I think my Dad needs to send off for Batman and Bond too. If you've got some spare money it's a good time to be shopping!

This is the deal I went for ,cracking deal and I am well chuffed. Take off the value of the six discs and I am getting the player for about £100Compare that to the Bush at Argos.

Just to confirm Batman and Casino Royale come with it, so 5 films and the player for £175 is pretty good

I'm tempted to dive in and get a bargain but not sure how many Bluray DVD's I'm gonna want, how is the upscaling on the Sony? Would I see much improvement versus my Panasonic DMR EX77? What about region free and recordable Blu rayplayers? Are they likely to be available in the near future?
