Sony 2011 network blu ray players

Hi,
Can someone tell me if the 2011 sony bluray players ipod app allows network access to youtube via the ipod app, to be played back on the blu ray player.
What online fuctions can the app control?
Im primarily interested in bdp-s580/780.

Hi - the app only controls the player, nothing else, so your ipod becomes the remote.
