small speakers that are GF friendly

Hi All,My GF came with me yestreday afternoon and looked at the Leema Xero and was very keen on them, due to their small size.

What speaker cable would people recomend?

I have chord silverscreen but it is quite thick to go under the carpet. I would like some to get the best from the bass of the speakers, whilst sounding smooth as well.. What about atlas 2.0?

Cyrus equipment is small (relatively) and the Spendor S3E are surely an ideal size and are a very well finished, classic looking speaker.
Maybe you just need some more attractive speaker stands than the super dreadnoughts.

I would second the Usher Be-718's, although i think they might be out of your price range and as yet appear to be a little unknown in the UK.

Easy to place, superb quality, they weigh about 18kg each and will work with just about any future upgrade you can throw at them.

reading the links for the harbeths suggested, the website states they are optimised for "free field placement", away from walls. maybe the bass will get a bit boomy?

Why not give this a look at. I recomended it to my cousin as she has issues with lumpy carpet. Good stuff by all accounts. You will have to trawl the site to find the speaker cable ( its flat by the way ) very gf friendly.

I wasthinkingof the GF upgrade, but due to this happening about a year a go, I thought this model deserved a chance ;-)

Also, teh house is a nice old one and it is rather nice. I supply the bed, some furniture and all the elcetrical goods (or I get a sony £100 cd system!), and I get everything else. Think my end of the deal is a bit better lol.

I actually have DNM stereo cable I am using now, but thought the sound would be 2 thin if I used it. Suppose try it and see....
