Dear all

Having just become a member of the ever increasing sky hd saga, i am now pondering over my best conection setup as i only have two hdmi inputs on onkyo 605 but now have three cables, sky, bluray, xbox. would i be right in my thoughts with sky direct to tv(hdmi) and coax or optical to amp, then bluray and xbox to amp via hdmi and amp to tv with hdmi, my reasoning for this is sky to tv, picture only allowing tv to do the upscaling and sound via amp in dd. xbox to amp because it outputs dd via hdmi and bluray to amp which is a cert.

any thoughts or comments right or wrong??

many thanks

That's the way i'd connect it up.

Theres no real benefit to connecting a Sky box to an amp via HDMI since it cant output DD 5.1 over HDMI,unless of course the amp happens to be better at upscaling than the TV.

or your mrs is incapable of select hdmi2 on the tv so if they all come from the amp the women find it easier to deal with
