Hi all, I have just ordered an upgrade to sky+ hd.

I there anything I should look out for on installation, like type of box installed & has it a decent capcity etc., any advice would be greatly recieved

Dermondo:Right, so what should I expect capcity size with the free box......

I believe it's still 320gb, 160gb for you and the rest for Sky to add programmes to the Anytime TV platform.

chudleighpaul:Anyway, now you have ordered HD, sit back and enjoy it. It really is a massive improvement.

When it works, mine has "broken down" at least 8 times this week and next week I'll be having a 4th replacement box!!!

Just got Sky HD in yesterday, first impressions are very good and to be honest better than expected.

Some HD channnel content is better than others but overall it is impressive, especially Sky News HD & BBC HD, very realisic and life like, at times the the picture depth & colours are vivid and give that 3D impression.

So no regets so far and well worth the upgrade, that brings my on to another question should pic on Sky HD appear as good or better than Blu Ray, current settings on Sky Box 1080i set on box with QED HDMI P cable fed into Samsung B500, any ideas.

i have had sk+hd for about 18 months but to be honest the picture quality on blu ray are still far superior than sky hd dont get me wrong i love sky hd and the picture quality is superb but blu ray still better overall.

The sound quality is however not as good as blu ray as still using the old optical for audio rather than my qed hdmi cable which i use for the blu ray to send audio over.

Only get dolby digital on sky but tru hd and dts ma on blu ray but other wise very happy with sky its a shame they still charge for the 10 pounds a month for hd as isnt it the norm now maybe they will scrap it once 3d is running properly not that im going to invest as i already were glasses and dont like to to wear 3d glass over them and not that impressed with 3d would really invest on if super hd ever comes out.

enjoy sky hd and all the best
