Sky HD picture setting

I have a sony lcd tv, can you tell me what is the best setting to select on sky hd, 1080i or automatic. and also i dont know if anyone else has noticed that the sound on the hd channels are very low. i had sky+ and the volume used to be on 30, now i have to put it up to 40+ on my new hd box. Any thoughts

i have a pana plasma that is 720p and my picture quality is much better if i have sky box set to 1080i and then let the tv downscale to 720p with hi def, which makes me think that the scaler in the sky box is worse then the one in my tv. so it might be better if your sky box does no scaling and you let the tv do it where necessary.

Best to set the Sky box to Auto, and let your TV do the scaling.
