Sky+ HD, Digital Sound Via HDMI

Does anyone know when and if Sky will enable the HD boxes to send Dolby Digital sound thru the HDMI ? I have had the Thomson HD box for some time and run Picture straight to TV over HDMI, but have to use the optical into my AMP for Dolby Digital. Will they fix this, or do the new Gen Pace boxes now do this.

Also, are they ever likely to have HD sound codecs along with HD Pictures ????

That seems unlikely, given the amount of bandwidth required. Not in the near future at any rate.

No plans as yet, as far as we know, and no, the new boxes don't.
