Recently after upgrading all the interconnects on my system Im now stuck at what to do for the best with this the last thing to be done.

As it stands Ive got a Nordost Silver Screen running to my Panasonic TH42PZ70B for the picture and a Nordost Whitelight Glass running to the optical out on my processor for digital programs so basically if a program is not in DD I switch to the analog output as it goes to two channel stereo.

What Im wondering is this would it be worth my while to change the ICs that I got for this (QED Qunex !s) to a better cable or not as all my other cables are Nordost.

I'd just stick to optical digital out for surround and stereo - that's what we do at home, on the grounds that the DACs in the processor are probably much better than those in the Sky box.

I thought I might get that answer somewhere Andrew, now heres a big but on my part

When its going through the processor though from the analog it outputs in PROLOGIC from the analog connection so it stays as a surround sound

Would a cable upgrade give better audio than it is at present though? (wife doesnt like play with things)

Surely the processor can be set to default to Pro-Logic when it receives a stereo signal down the optical, too? Let me know what the processor is and I'll do some digging.

I would suspect the sound from the Sky box analogue out wouldn't be worth spending too much extra on interconnects for.

I know the default is set to prologic on the analog output but I dont know about the optical as Ive never touched it myself

The processor is the Tag Mclaren AV32R

finally sorted it Andrew nightmare to sort out to,in the processor modes menu it gave me 3 different rates to choose from, than 10 different options to choose from to set it.Now if its not a DD broadcast it goes automatically to the prologic setting and no fall out in the audio
