SKY + audio and Visual connections

I currently have sky + and have the audio output to my Denon 3805 av receiver via analogue (van der hul name) would it sound better on a coaxial. Also within a month i am planning to change my amp to the onkyo SR875 after auditions. What is the best way to connect both my audio and visual cabling via the onkyo to my phillips 42" ambilight full HD tv. I am planning to upgrade my sky to HD later in the year.

IIRC for the sky HD picture by HDMI and sound by opitcal. as it only passes stereo sound by HDMI. normal sky no idea.
