I have a Sherwood RVD 7090 RVD/RDS- Dolby D and DTS Ready. I have a Samsung DVD F1080W player, and a Samsumg LCD 1080 HD ready TV. The DVD has an HDMI lead to TV and a Camridge Audio coaxial to Receiever. I can get DD, but when I select THX or DTS on the DVD Set Up, a message appears on the TV saying "HDMI not supported" and I get no sound from the receiver. It seems the receiver is waiting for a DTS signal from the DVD player? Dolby Digital is fine with the same leads. Any ideas on how I can get DTS sound????

It sounds more like the DVD player is trying to send the DTS signal down the HDMI to the TV, instead of down the coax to the receiver. Check the options on the DVD player to see what it thinks it's supposed to be doing with a DTS signal.

I think the problem is HDMI-related, but it's more that the TV is telling the player it can't accept DTS, and thus the player is cutting output.

You could try turning off the Anynet+ HDMI CEC control between the TV and player, as this may sever that link, and also set the audio output to Bitstream.

Cheers. tried to with connections and options etc. It says " when DTS selected , DTS analog out not supported" Tried switching Bitstream to PCM, but no joy and disconnecting Anynet HDMI- CEC but noi difference. so its something to do with the players output - wionder if i need a differrent type of output connector?
