Separate hard drive for freesat box.

My dad has a freesat box with no hard drive, can you get an external hard drive to run alongside it.

Depends on the Freesat box. The Technisat HDFS for example, supports USB/HDD recording.

The only other way to record, would be by connecting to an DVD/HDD recorder,though you wouldn't be able to record in HD.
