after 3 months of having my c7000 plasma and endless tweaking i have found that i have had to set my contrast ratio to 65% otherwise the colours are to vibrant what i would like to know is the contrast ratios on plasmas higher then led as my previous led was set at 80% but setting it to this makes the colours to overpowering hance having to lower to the figure above so is this setting fine or is it to low to get the best picture from my tv

LED & plasma TVs are different & so will the settings be. Why worry what constrast it's been set at? You're finally happy after 3 months of tweaking, right?

Contrast settings depends on the room lighting etc., so no one can possibly comment if the contrast setting is too low or too high.

You can use a THX optimizer found in many Disney/Pixar DVDs to adjust the contrast if you want.

The contrast control is purely to set the maximum white level. Too high and whites start to gel together, too low and your not getting the full contrast (Although you may prefer it a bit lower anyways)

If colour is affected, then turn down the colour (or gamma or any other control that affects colour) to compensate

Have you tried lowering the cell light and then reset the contrast? it's just form my experiance with Samsung plasmas with the cell light function I have found generally that having it set higher than 10 resulted in over pushed colours and loss of shadow depth.
