Has anyone had any issues with the Samsung Sky+ HD box. I've had mine for a few weeks and it's pretty slow. More recently it's been even slower, sometimes failing to register button presses on the remote.

Anyone have any suggestions? I've already tried switching it off for a while and back on again to no avail.

oh btw, if you dont know how to force a firmware upgrade here goes,

with the hd box switched off at the mains, press and hold the back up button in

now switch the box back on whilst still pressing and holding the back up button in

after about 20-30 seconds, the box will light up like a xmas tree.. i.e all the lights will come on. you can now release the back up button,

the box is now downloading the firmware update (may take upto 20 mins)

once all the lights have gone out, the box will go into standby, leave for a few minutes to update itself, in fact it wont switch out of standby until its done this anyway.

then switch box back on, job done

I have had similar problems with my Samsung box. I think I saw somewhere that the box needs to be connected to a phone line to perform this back-up. Mine is not connected. Does anybody know if that is correct or not?

Sky tech support suggested that the reason my hd box doesn't register remote presses is because of interference from my TV.

Still doesn't explain why my box is slow even after de-fragging the hard drive
