Samsung PS59D6900 Firmware fix for brightness pops

Hi, just a heads up to anyone owning this TV and has the annoying brightness fluctuations that mine had. The new 1019 firmware seems to eliminate this.

I've downloaded it and it seems to do the trick although I've not done much viewing this weekend. Others on another forum are saying it definitely works and also seems to have reduced the heat coming from the set.

IT says 1018 but when downloaded its 1019.

Be very Weary of this update, I have the 64D8000 and it has risen my black levels and introduced floating blacks. In a nutshell, when I am watching 2.35:1 letterboxed movies the black bars keep changing brightness, turning dark grey, then black again. This is rather annoying and I have reports, especially in America, of these changes ocuuring across the how D series plasma range.
