FINALLY DONE IT! JUST BOUGHT THE SAMSUNG 40551 FROM CURRY'S (550 ON THE BOX).UNDER £500,WHAT GREAT VALUE.VERY PLEASED WITH EVERYTHING ABOUT IT.

I THINK I HAVE THE SETTINGS OK BUT WOULD WELCOME ANY ADVISE FROM THE PRO'S REGARDING GETTING THE BEST FROM THIS SET.I ONLY REALLY WATCH SD TV AND THE OCCASIONAL FILM (THREE KIDS,HOUSE,JOB AND NO TIME).

these are some settings i used on a samsung b650 lcd i previously had , they are mainly for hd in a dimly lit room , they worked well for me , just ignore anything to do with the 100hz as the b550 dont have it...which is the only difference between the two models as far as picture quality goes...they may help as a starting point..
