Samsung LE37A457 37 inch

Is the Samsung LE37A457 37 inch TV any good. It's £530 in John Lewis but they should in theory price match. I know its not full 1080 but i'll mainly be watching SD through the most basic ie free Virgin package (and the odd DVD!!)

Does anybody have any first hand experience of the Samsung?

Is the Philips 37PFL5603D any good for SD I 've heard it's not?

Samsung certainly seem to offer good value TV's

i had the 32 inch version and i thought it was really good for the money

i think you will find 37" cheaper than £530 if you shop around .

i really dont think you would notice the difference from 720p to 1080p on a 32-37" tv

my overall impessions were positive , SD contents were quite good with freeview, dvd and blu-ray were fantastic

the only drawback was the sound quality which was a tad harsh and a bit tinny, but definetly not a major concern as this is usually the case with flat screen tv's
