Samsung LE26A456 and DVD-HD870: is it possible to share the remote?

Hi all

I have just received my brand new LE26A456, the recent group test winner for "26 LCDs. I am very impressed with it so far, but its new remote is different from that provided with Samsung's previous models, and I don't seem to be able to control my DVD-HD870 with it. Am I missing something here, or is it indeed impossible? That would be a real shame...

I have received word from Samsung that it is not possible to use the remote of the LE26A456 with other devices (such as the DVD-HD870). Do keep this in mind when buying with a view to reduce the number of remotes in the living room...

Sorry Hedgehog I don't know the answer but was wondering where you got the LE26A456 from?

I see richersounds have the LE26A457, (which looks pretty much the same as the LE26A456), for £329 but my store is out of stock.

I actually posted a thread a few days ago, asking what the difference between the LE26A456 and the LE26A457 is, but I didn't get any responses.

Having had no luck at RS, I ordered mine from The Link. It cost me £334 incl. free next day delivery. See
