hi guys nice to be here,

just to ask thinking of getting the samsung PS-50A656 plasma or LE-46A656 lcd anyone have any of the sets and whats the pic like..which do you think i should go for would be a great help, also seen in all the top retailers selling the tv the w.h.f 5 star logo next to it.. but in the mag all the models only get 4 stars any help please regards..

Sorry, this one get lost in the flood!

When we first tested the 40in 6-series Samsung it got five stars, but since then we've seen sets that are even better. That doesn't suddenly make the Samsung a poor set (far from it), and its unique styling alone might sell it to you over its rivals.

Ocyrus, just to clarify, it was the the Samsung LE-40A656 that got 5 stars when we first tested it in April 2008 (not the 46in version), athough it was taken down to 4 stars in a subsequent group test.

The LE46A656 got 4 stars in the Ultimate Guide to TV we published earlier this year. It's good, but not the best in its class. If it's a superlative 46in screen you want, take a look at Sony's KDL-46X3500.

think when i post i need to leave things a bit longer for your replys..i do like the samsung plasma 50 but the red black is putting me off and the oval foot on the 52 lcd the whole thing reminds me of some italian vase just not my cup of tea..now if it was blue black wow think that would look so cool will look at the sonys.. keep up the good work..

I also thinking a buying a samsung model LE40A656 i have seen this model priced under £750 on the net

how does this compare to models at £700 to £800 bracket

hi, it's a very very good lcd seen it in currys and it blows others out of the water can't get over the jump in tec in just 1 year..and to tell you the truth if whf give it 5 stars then you can put your money on a top lcd..

ps, what do you think of the red black..?

Hi. I bought the Samsung LE40A656 about a month ago. It's a fantastic Tv. The HD pictures are superb, bluray just looks phenominal and SD broadcasts are very good also. It's now also excellent value for money as it was £1300 when it first was released. I got mine for £799 with free HD DVD player and a 5 Year warranty from Joun Lewis. A very happy man indeed!!!
