Hi,

I purchased a Samsung UE55C7000 at a Charity auction for Breast Cancer. I now have a problem with it in that the optical cable adapter is faulty. I contacted Samsung who were VERY rude and not very helpful and said that i need to provide proof of purchase to them as it might not have a warranty. I find this absolutly absurd and tried to contact consumer direct but they are closed.

any advice would be very welcome

In the first case of fault you should contact your retailer, but that's obviously not applicable in this case (unless the charity auction orgaisers have details of the donor? Worth asking)

I am happy to contact Samsung on your behalf, but I doubt - especially with CES on all next week - i'd be able to get any answer for you for 10 days or so. Let me know if you want me to draw attention to this thread.

Hi Clare,

thanks for the quick reply, i have tried to contact the donor but have been unable to speak with them, I will see if they reply. On another note it might be worth the contact from yourself incase i have any future problems and i would like the TV registered with Samsung so i can just call them direct.

I do find the customer service from Samsung to be very very poor and i think the guy was having a bad day because he resorted to arguing with me and then every time i tried to explain he just seemed to speak over me and then said he will transfer me to the spares department where i can purchase one.

The warranty (or better yet, the lack of warranty) is the reason I will never buy Samsung equipment again.

Try the shop first, and see what they can come up with. But do remember, it might be closed for the holidays.
