SACD DVD-Audio upper frequency extension!!!

Are speakers with extended upper frequencies neccessary to benefit from SACD, DVD-Audio playback?

hi no not at all, but some users like to use supertweeters when using sacd and dvd-a ,and now blu-ray as there main source of listening to there music-- i have tried some tannoy supertweeters a few years back and very good they where too ,but you do need a very good system to get any benefit and rather expensive they are as well..
