I currently have an Arcam A28, Arcam CD37 & Rega P3, feeding B&W 685's on Atacama Nexus stands. I am considering the Ruark Talisman III's as the Arcam's are very smooth and I want to upgrade to better speakers, but want something that can cope if I upgrade the amp side in future

The Talisman II's were very good speakers, and did improve with better amplification. I'm sure the III's will serve you well. Like most speakers, they'll not be without competition - have a look at the ProAc studio 140.2's as well.

Talisman IIs are fantastic speakers although I've not heard the IIIs. In one of my systems I have a pair of Crusader IIs which are the 'big brother' - they were 1500 new and on taking into my local dealers they listened and felt I needed to spend 3k+ to get an upgrade today

They had a strong review in What Hi-Fi, particularly if your system is smooth & neutral, which mine is. additionally, my local specialist dealer sells Ruark, so I do not have to go miles to listen to them once I have set up a review and can judge them against Spendor's & PMC's
