Ruark r4 and Apple HomePod minis

Would anyone know if it’s possible to connect a Ruark r4 to my HomePod minis?
My current wireless speakers have given up the ghost and I have a couple of the Apple HomePod minis already.

There’s an optical out but the minis only connect over my WiFi network and don’t have any physical inputs. I was hoping to find some kind of adapter that would enable me to connect to the minis over WiFi as they are some distance from the stereo.

The Ruark R4 has aptX technology, so you can stream music from compatible devices like the Minis to the R4, upto 10 meters.

I’m trying to get sound from the r4 to the HomePod speakers, presumably by plugging something into one of outputs on the r4 so it can connect to the speakers wirelessly. Wasn’t what you were suggesting going the other way?

I think I might try using a raspberry pi as an AirPlay transmitter. Found a walkthrough on redit that seems quite a comprehensive guide.
