Got the white belt yesterday - £21 so not really a lot if it does not yield an improvement.

My RP6 just over a week old now, not sure if the Exact cart is starting to open up but everything sounds, how can I put it - more 'musical' - great PRaT. Had a 6 hour session last night - I was just taken in by it so much couldn't not resist playing records!

At moments like these I do actually think 'do I really need new speakers'?

Yes, vinyl from a decent source really is enjoyable. And the RP6 is a decent source. Of course, you don't need new speakers, but I'm sure it's quite easily possible that you can find speakers that you'd prefer to your RS1's.

Yep. RS3s :)

I am in denial Chebby - I have been auditionong various bookshelfs over the last few weeks, the KEF R100 were nice as were the Totem Dreamcatchers all had there strong points - however when I demoed the RS3 while i was waiting for my cartridge to be fitted I instantly felt at home with the presentation akin to the RS1 with a bit more bass.

I have took some advice from various people about trying different brands, I have done that but still prefer the sound of the RS3, I like the the look of them, I can relegate my RS1 for rear duties in my AV set up. The RS3 are not fussy with placeemnt and can experiment with the bass drivers facing in or out.

I think I will have to buy a new pair though as I want Piano Black and RS3 2nds in Piano Black are like rocking horse ****! A pair were on ebay the other day in Cherry they went after a few hours for £540 buy-it-now, just missed them I would of gone for Cherry at that price.

I really wonder what you thinking of the white belt. And if you think it might make a difference for my RP1 too. Thanks!

Well it is an upgrade as part of the performance pack for the RP1 - imho you have a better cartridge than the Bias (performace pack) - for £21 its worth a punt for you and if you later upgrade to an RP3/6 then you can keep the white belt and put the old belt on the RP1

How does a white belt differ from a conventional black or grey one?

You need to hear those Neats in your new house, and perhaps some PMCs?

its a different composition by all accounts! Dont ask me how it sounds better but it could be the Exact opening up!

Yep Im not rushing on the speakers front...enjoying my system as it is for a bit now and now i have moved a bit happier with the RS1 - well away from the side walls unlike my in my old house!
