Would they recommend that amp ffs
I can understand your frustration but please bear in mind that whilst this forum may have thousands of members there are very few who are actually "active". Most just come on here to ask a question, never to be seen again.
The only input I can offer is Rotel does seem to have a strong following. I never heard one so I cannot comment.
As you have bought this amp you are best placed to tell us if it is better than the Marantz it will replace (y) Maybe your question would have been better asked prior to your purchase.

Absolutely, the very best person to answer the question ✔️

No maybe about that.
But even then.....
For what it's worth, I used to own the PM66KI. If your Marantz was 75% as good as that Rich, then it will take some beating.
But if I were to tell you that I preferred a Rotel (or any other amp) it wouldn't help you in the slightest.

Give all buttons, switches, inputs and outputs a full check as soon as you get it and I hope you find that you really like the Rotel (y)

I have a vintage Rotel amp system ...RC 980bx and two RB 850 mono blocks onto a pair of Mission speakers. The Rotel is a clean powerful amp with a very flat frequency response. Distortion is minimal and the power rating is around 180 W into 8 ohms .It sounds wonderful and very accurate with little colouration. It will drive nearly any load in terms of speakers. Rotel's black face 1990s amps are excellent but, rather under rated.

Nice amp but can't see it being better than the marantz. The marantz 66 was one of the best amps I've had, only got rid of it because of a fault! Best of luck see how it performs!

A brand says nothing, it's your ears that make the decision. The warmest reproduction has a tube amplifier. The power consumption GIGANTIC, but the sound of an A class is perfect. The A/B amplifier is now matched with a D class sometimes improved. Hypex Nilay DIY MONO 2x amplifier or stereo amplifier, a High End sound, for a (long term savings) affordable price. I think it's a waste of money to spend little if the differences are negligible.

You said it yourself, it's your ears that make the decision.
if I love a particular Class A amp I am unlikely to even look at a class D....... Simples!
Most of us in this game aren't in it with power consumption as a main priority.
They consume nothing when switched off ...

Wish my knowledge from English was much better, I am from Holland. When a A class amplifier is switched on, and the Volume is on 0 the power consumption is always the maximum. This time I didn't use the Google translate.
