I will soon be reunited with my old turntable and vinyls. I have an old Akai turntable with a Denon cartridge (forgot which one) and a NAD phono preamp.

I was wondering if I should use the Phono entry or the preamp with an AUX entry (or other)?

And then which interconnect is recommended? in the price range matchng the Rotel RA 04.

Thanks for any comments.

In the context of the equipment, I suspect you would hear little difference between the Rotel's phono stage and the NAD. However, by all means try it and see if you get an improvement, just don't spend too much on an interconnect - search for Gotham's GAC-1 from the supplier on eBay, he will do a short .5m one for you for about a tenner - that's what I use between my phono stage and amp (Project RPM5/Cambridge 640p/Creek Classic).
