Roomie remote vs URC - anyone got them?

I'm considering the URC MX780 with MRF350 base station. It's the best built remote I've ever seen. It's IR based.

The other option is to go for roomie remote with IPad mini. This is RF based.

Wife isn't keen on iPad app and prefers a proper remote. But URC is trickier to install, as I'll need IR emitters from every com[onent to the base station.

Thoughts?

Decided on roomie remote in the end with Harmony smart control remote as well, so we have a basic remote to complement roomie.

Demopad is a good one as well if you want to design your own.
