Just seekind advice regarding relative merits of Rega v Roksan. In the past I have bought Rega mainly for their sheer great value products.

The Roksan attessa/ K3 range on Richer sounds are on offer for really affordable prices.
My source will be vinyl and really like the Rega p3 RS turntable. Yet again very affordable attessa deck at Richer sounds.
So do I grab a bargain at RS or go for Rega mid-price source and amp?
I will be using stand mount speakers due to small living room. Thinking dynaudio/kef/b&w. Any thoughts. Thanks.

Choose your speaker first,, most important part of any set-up, then audition both amps.
Turntables will come down to how familiar you are with setting them up.
Rega for convenience, Roksan for flexibility, although do note it doesn't come with a dust cover......

I suspect for most vinyl grove setters, the Rega P3 is king. Once all the hype is removed, I think the Roksan Attessa compares well with the Rega P3?

Aesthetically the Roksan Attessa doesn't do it for me and that flat tone arm! Still;
what may sway you, the The Roksan Attessa has a built in phono amp, this may help you free up some cash for a better cartridge.
My 2 cents from Mr. Digital guy 🙂

Hi, both brands are very good. Roksan is very good as amp brand, Rega is very good mainly in turntables. But Rega has a strenght in synergy of their components. E.g. Planar 3 RS with their MM cartridge ND3 or ND5 and amp Brio or Elex are very hard to beat in middle size room. Speaker is of your preference and size of your room below 16m² I will take bookshelfs like Q Acoustics or Fyne Audio or what you like. In bigger room you may choose floorstanders. There are lots of good possibilities. The best is to try and select speaker on your own and select speakers. BR. Juraj

My Denon AVR-X1800 has a phono input, my wife alluded to 'why don't you have a turntable', it might have been the 5th glass of prosecco, hmmm might be worth exploring? £380?

Jason little voice;
don't be tempted by Hi-fi-rye-tus, go bang your head on the wall,
that's better, it's going to cost me a fortune to rebuild my vinyls.........................phew that was close 🙂

I think the story goes is the Roksan sold badly, and added to it rumours of difficult setup & some units had issues from the factory. Roksan sorted that problem but I guess the reputation stuck & a v good turntable went unloved. Bargain price for sure.
Great price. Roksan used to make very good record spinners. Roksan were clever Alex's in their pomp, during the naughties: amps, CDPs and turntables.

Oddly Rega tried all things to all people but some of their equipment suffered from poor quality control. Pity as Rega could have led the market in a few different segments.

If you are in a smaller room KEF tend to be more forgiving in their placement than B&W. Don't know much about Dynaudio.

Thanks for everyone's input regarding Roksan v Rega. Everyone loves a bargain, right? But reason for huge discounts:end of product and limited stock. Roksan no longer feature any turntables on their website.
To confound my choices, Rega will shortly release Brio MK7 @£799. Had the last version and it was a great little amp. I think you know where I am going with this....

£380 paid ! bargain.
i've a brand new [2 week old] rega planar 6 in my home office.
rega qaqc not good. i have had issues with the "potted" RCA leads [the outer ring connection being bent in on unpacking and needing very careful prising-out] as well as minor marks on the plinth edging.
combined with that, their delivery and supply bizzare; ordered as factory fitted nd7, but delivered with bare tone-arm and nd7 in a packet for mounting, etc.

will give this roksan a spin [pun intended] on delivery; hopefully a simple set-up !

@Dezp

Price can and is often the deciding factor for any product BUT there are other things to consider espcailly with mechanical devices such as turntables.

Belt drives in general need a touch more love over there life time. So if Roksan are no longer supporting vinyl and it and uses proprietary parts (no idea if it does but certainly a question to ask) it may become troublesome in the future. Rega have long supported there products and there products have stood the test of time. It might not be the case but the thought would go through my head.

I look at this way, save a few boob in the short term and potentially have to spend yet more money in the future. Or spend now safe in the knowledge that you have a well supported product that will last a lifetime with standard CHEAP parts that are readily available including motor assembly's.

Like I said it might not be the case at all just worth thinking about.

As for amps and speakers try them out together and if you're able to in you space.
