Roksan Kandy

daveh75:The mkIII is the cd player and LIII an intergrated amp!

Haha! I'd been wondering the same thing. Obvious if you know it, but meaningless otherwise. Why don't manufacturers name their products logically? What does 'mk' mean? What does 'L' mean? What does 'III' mean?

Come to think of it, what does 'K2' mean...apart from being a mountain?

Oh, where will the questions end...?

Hi. New here.

I'm slightly confused by the Roksan naming, too.

I've been looking at Roksan Kandy's on eBay and you get; Kandy L.III Mk.III's, KA-1 Mk. III, L.III's, L3's, KA-1's etc. etc.

The all look the same from the descriptions and photos. I take it L.III Mk. III is the latest/last "original" Kandy..? Were there ever Mk1's and 2's..? When did KA-1 become LIII etc..?

I'd really appreciate it if someone could clarify further.

Cheers, Matt.

Over a period of around 4 years there were 2 versions of the MKiii amp.
Firstly the MKiii and then the MKiii L3. It gained the L3 postfix due to a change in the main PCB design but, due to keeping the exterior visuals, it retained MKiii designation.

Life's really simple, if you're not sure, ask the distributor. We're on the web, we advertise in almost every mag and we're here to help.
