No catch.

It tell you the price for the warranty, you pay it.

If you do not use it claim your money back, a friend of mine has done this a couple of times now.

Also sign up as a VIP member and you get a free 5 year warranty on all TV's.
So if you get a free 5 year warranty does it still count?

So you want money back after 5 years for something that was free?

I paid for the warranty as an extra, and yes you get it refunded the amount you pay at the end if you don't use it.

if the warranty is free, then It's not refundable because it was free....

Not just that, check this:

"Cover the specified items for 5 years. As well as all of this, you can claim your money back at the end of the 5 year period if unused. Simply return your unused Supercare policy within one month of the expiration date, and we’ll refund the price of your guarantee."

http://www.richersounds.com/information/warranties
Where's the catch?
You only have a month to claim it back. As long as you're efficient with claiming, you'll get your money back.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Most of you seem to think a 5 year warrenty is worth the extra money.

The 5-year warranty is certainly worth the extra money in my view, especially for something as big as the Samsung UE75H6400 television.

The one about the death of the high street store! I did ring RS to ask for a demo of the TV but they said they couldn't do it as it was too big!

Another thing they make a big thing on their website about come try all our products at our stores.(Except big TV's!)

I don't know if you've actually been to a Richer Sounds shop, but most of them are pretty confined, space is limited! In my local (Edinburgh) one, if they were to put up a 75-inch television on demonstration, that would, LITERALLY, take up at least one-third of the space along their longest wall. They just don't have room to set up on demonstration something as big as a 75-inch television and I think that you are being quite unreasonable in expecting Richer Sounds to do so. They would have to remove between three and six of their existing televisions in order to make room for a 75-inch television! The biggest television that I've seen on display or demonstration at any Richer Sounds shop is a 55-inch. Why don't you ask John Lewis, whose television departments have two, three, four or five times the shop floor area of the Richer Sounds shops in the same town, ask John Lewis to put on a demonstration of a 75-inch television and see what John Lewis say! You seem determined to find fault with Richer Sounds. Anyway, if it helps to give you an idea of television size, this picture shows a 75-inch televison on the left and a 65-inch television on the right (from the Samsung H7500 4K series, as it happens). This photo was taken in a very big shop in London called Ask Electronics, at 248-250 Tottenham Court Road. This shop, on three floors, is about 12 times as big as the Richer Sounds shop in Edinburgh.

Good luck with your 75-inch television purchase, from wherever and whenever that occurs.

Nearly everyone here is spectacularly missing his point by a country mile. That being, by RS's own rules they only have to offer a longer warranty than a competitor which statistically most people won't use and they can default on their price match agreement.

Most competitors offer an extended warranty option which would be taken into account when price matching. If people don't want the 5-year warranty and have found the TV cheaper elsewhere, buy it from there.

Richer Sounds offers a 5-year warranty by default, don't buy it from there if you don't want the warranty. This is similar to a shop offering a free soundbar with their TV when you don't want it. What would you do then?

Richer Sounds prices are amongst the most competitive in the market anyway, so I don't think they're using the extended warranty option just because they don't want to price match.

In my experience, the 5-year warranty is well worth it. My Kuro developed a fault after three and a half years requiring a panel change.

and in my experience too. My 46pz plasma developed a faulty fan into the 4th year of my warranty, so we'll worth it in my opinion.
