Skul baby you guess correct. Damn fine cart but wasted on a genie. Honestly mate , and nobody is pulling your chain btw, take note on whats been posted in this thread. By all means get the 2m red but stop there and enjoy your records. You could go cheaper than the red and still have a great sound from the genie but, and this isnt a swipe at your tt, you cant make a silk purse from a sows lughole.

For 34 quid or so you could get an Audio Technica AT95e. Cracking little mm.

So, not wishing to hijack this thread, the rondo red should be great on my Pro-Ject Xperience Xpack?

The Xperience Xpack is often (if not perhaps even always) sold with a factory-fitted Rondo Red.

It would be cheaper and simpler to upgrade the Ortofon stylus you have. An upgrade to an OM20 stylus while keeping the same cart body would be a noticeable improvement in fine detail retrieval. The step up in stylus profile from the OM10 to the 20 is significant enough to warrant paying the extra for the 20 but common sense dictates go for the OM10 because of the turntables' limitations. I wouldn't spend any more than that and would stay with the OM range, it's perfectly adequate for your fine turntable.
