If it’s not a placement issue (as mentioned above). Simply adjusting the placement of you and the speakers a touch, or removing any obstacles, can make a huge difference.
I will add sometimes, just giving the system a good push and increasing the volume for an hour or two can sort things out. This can happen with my speakers if they haven’t been used in a while. If the speakers are new this can also help. And it might be as simple as that.
Or it could be as simple as a loose speaker cables/ oxidation on the cable if you’re using bare wire. This can add a brittle sound.
I’d recommend trying the free options first but if you have everything just so then its time to look at the electronics themselves.
But If you’re able to adjust the EQ in Spotify and it works and sounds pleasing and solves your "problem", then that’s probably your answer. And to answer your question there are tone controls you can buy, like the Schit Loki, but I think it will either be a speaker change or an amp with tone controls.
