Rega Brio R Fault - Turns on but No Input Light

Hi there,

I bought a rega brio r a few months ago as ex display on ebay and picked it up from a local dealership.

Unfortunately it has now tonight developed a fault, were I was playing a record and the sound cut out. Now when turned back on the rega logo light

comes on but there is no click after 3seconds and the input lights are all out. I'm really unsure what to do and feel like I've blown 300 odd pounds.

If anyone has any advise, or have heard / had the fault themselves, I'd appreciated some input.

Obviously a fault - is it still under warranrty with the dealer? If not, don't despair - Rega are very good at repairing stuff out of warrany and I very much doubt you wont be charged.

I'm not sure as there was no receipt and the instruction book doesn't have a stamp, so it's all down to my paypal reciept really. I was abit rash and rushed into getting it due to the low price really. Cheers for the quick reply though, and that's good to know, if worse comes to worse I'll get it repaired directly by them hopefully.

If it's ex-demo from a dealer it should be covered under Rega's usual warranty. Speak to the dealer as your first port of call. They should be able to arrange a repair with Rega.

it might be worth going direct to rega as you bought the amp on line, as long as you have your proof of purchase you will be fine, this is obviously an internal fault which should be covered by the warranty.

you can get the dealer involved if you wish but it could take longer to get repaired as your adding another link to the returns chain.

Thanks for the replies, took it back to my dealer who swiftly sent it off to rega as it was still under warranty, hopefully should be repaired and returned soon. Dealer said he's never seen anything like it before.

i think that on the rega site it tells you to use your dealer to arrange any repairs. so, thats where you need to be heading.
