One point to remember when recording HD content on your V+ box is that 1 hour of HD equals 5 hours of space on your box, recorded a baseball game last night and it used up 15 hours of space, not a problem as long as you remember that you need at lot more space for series links etc. But great that Virgin media users now have a choice of HD channels, can we have some movie channels too?

Ciao AC, I hadn't realised you (we) could record HD content on the V+ box. Is it all HD channels that can be recorded in HD or all except BBC. I thought I'd recorded something from BBC HD channel, but not actually in HD when you record as opposed to view... if that question makes sense

Ciao James, I've never recorded anything from BBC HD but as Big Aura says you can record from any HD channel, the ones I've recorded from are FX HD (tru blood) and ESPN HD and both are in HD on playback as indicated by the HDTV indicator light which comes on when you view or playback from an HD Channel. A nice feature on the V+ box if you press menu and go to page 2 of TV guide you can select High Definition and it will show you only the HD channels that are available useful if virgin keep adding more HD channels and for some reason ESPN HD 530, does not show when you select TV Guide all channels.

Does anyone know why Family Guy on FX HD comes through in 4:3?
