And in answer to the actual question, can't speak for some of Joel's recommendations, but I find it hard to see past HD25s, which are tremendous. iPhone earbuds are not (even if they are better then all passive speakers on the planet, according to some sources).

Another thread gone bad.

Bearing in mind as well that fr0g has three times as many posts as dalethorn and ten times as many as one box system; I think fr0g can be thought of as the "local guy" here and perhaps he thinks of this forum as a "virtual" pub full of mates with a common interest. In that environment, formal courtesies are neither expected or given.

So, the volume of posts dictates how less well-mannered you can be does it? Why say it's gone bad? Old fr0gface and eggonface are the ones causing the furore, as well as those thinly-disguised swearing ones. Just shows them up for how bad-mannered it has become.

Oh, and I'm joking about the names, by the way. 🙂

Seriously Chip, Look in a mirror. There was no "furore" (if that's a furore you have been sheltered young man). In fact your very first post was aimless, meaningless and out of place...I mean, which in-ear or on-ear headphones did YOU recommend.?..oh wait no, you didn't, you came here as a self-appointed guardian of some supposed and imaginary etiquette like a modern day Mary Whitehouse on a sugar high. I made a slightly cutting joke at your expense because of it and now you and your chum are all in a huff like a couple of insulted Judy Garlands.

Chill out, relax and perhaps simply join in.

And...No need to thank me for that advice.

I think you need to chill out, 'Chip'. I don't have a 'chum' here', by the way. I'm just requesting some manners, which you found strangely odd for some reason, and really seem unable to let go - always wanting the last word. :wall:

But seriously, Craig, the bundled iPhone 5 in-ears, really? solid plastic, uncomfortable and not as good as my cheapy Creative bundled ones...Thin sounding and super hard to wear...Maybe it's the fit, but mine are long binned... 🙂 (ie, in the bottom of a drawer, somewhere..)

Compared to the others I've tried replacing them with, the standard Apple ones have been the best. Not saying they are the last word by any means (that's why I'm interested in some new ones), but at least I can walk the dog all the way round the park without having to turn the music off (the Senns), or constantly wish there was just a bit of bass (the Denons). The Apple ones are sensitive to positioning in the ear though, it's easy for the bass to disappear if they aren't lined up just right.

I know what you mean JD. I was very impressed with the Beyerdynamic DT880 and 990 recently, very very smooth indeed. In fact, to my ears with female vocals nicer then the T70, but that is just reader choice.

The AIAIAI's, were very good indeed, and for a bit of electronic, well worth a shout. I left feeling extremely positive about them and am getting some myself.

If you want a cheap improvement on Apple supplied buds with a bit of bass, then look at JAYS and NOCS. For £50 ish you can get some decent kit. For under £100 you can get some really good buds.

I had some Jays, the ones with the untangleable cable, which were excellent, although microphonics could be an issue for some. Myonly reservation would be that they packed in and I had lost the receipt. Saying that, my missus has some still and they are fine.

Ive got sennhieser momentum on-ears which are great, but my most used earphones are my ie80's with acs custom tips. If you are going to go iem again, I would recommend without reservation getting custom moulds fitted, in fact, if you like the 215's, that could be a good option and save you a shed load of cash!

My brother-in-law went out with a Swede for five years, and she was the nicest person you could possibly hope to meet. She was also inconceivably beautiful, but that's another matter. As for perceived rudeness on fr0g's part, I'm afraid I'm struggling to see it. You should try some of the other forums he's on...

I'm certain that his performance on those other forums is leaking into here. This was a very friendly forum until he arrived with his negative attitudes.

You think fr0g has single-handedly changed the tenor of the entire forum?

I'm guessing that report will be useless seeing as a mod has said he doesn't see a problem.

You let it lie, your problem is obviously with Dale and anyone who disagrees with you or agrees with Dale.

It was my thread, asking for headphone recommendations, so I feel fairly entitled to have the last word (which it seems that you also seem to want even though you haven't added anything remotely constructive, such as a headphone recommendation).

I honestly don't care if you agree with Dale, and I have no "problem" with Dale, other than the fact that in this case he and you are massively overreacting to essentially nothing about a perceived lack of manners in accordance with your own personal "Little book of P's and Q's"

MY thread? My, how childish that sounds. I believe you are over-reacting, dear fr0g. Why recommend to someone with no manners? Yours, Chip.

Mature. I like the way you edited your post 20 minutes later to add more guff to try and wind someone up.

I was tempering my words, to be honest. It wasn't 20 minutes later - and, what's it got to do with you if I edit? None of your buisness to be honest. I'm not winding anyone up, just making my point. Are you a moderator? No. Well, your post sounds really mature - guff to wind someone up?

I'm not sure why anything I've posted about on this thread is any less my business than anything you've posted is your business. The only difference is you're trolling by trying to wind someone up whereas I am pointing that out.

For the record, on each of your two posts you had only written the first sentence and you added the rest many minutes later. People can judge for themselves whether the intent of that and the rest of your posts was to wind fr0g up. If you think whether 15 minutes or 20 minutes had passed is significant then I'm struggling to agree.

@ OneBoxSystem

I'm not sure why you are persistently trolling this thread but, why don't you just recommend your WeSC headphones and be on your way ;-)
