Hi,

I know (correct me if I am wrong) that in a 5.1 setup, the L/R rear speakers should be 2 feet above listening position, and 90-110 degrees from center. I assume that the speakers should be angled horizontally towards the listener, but should they be angled vertically, i.e. pointing downward at the listener as well?

Thanks,

Hi Chris,

My surround speakers are 1.8m(6ft) from floor level and level with the floor, not angled down. At that height there should be no need to angle the speakers down. If the speakers were at ceiling height then a slight angle would work fine.

Brilliant, thanks. Mine will only be 2 feet above listening position, but thought I should find out before I fix them to the wall, as the wall brackets dont allow for vertical tilting.

Thanks again
