Radio on Sky

what "quality" are these broadcasts?

are these like dab? or more like internet radio?

Why not get it from FM or DAB or Freeview/Freesat or the internet? Why pay Sky for something that is already free?

it was more out of curiosity that i asked. i already have sky, and listen to the radio on a morning while i wake up.

i just wondered what sort of quality it is, in comparison to fm/dab/internet

If you can't answer the question why comment at all?

For the main stations Sky quality is VASTLY superior to DAB (not difficult), and generally better than internet radio, certainly better than MW but there's still nothing to stop stations throttling their bandwidth for cost reasons if they need to, so it's not guaranteed to be an improvement.

the few stations i've listened to don't sound too bad.. they're ok for easy listening.

thanks for satisfying my curiosity.

The other point is it should be more reliable than internet streaming and won't come out of your download limit, should you have one.

Radio via DTT/DSAT are mp2 and between 48Kbps (mono) and 256Kbps, much like DAB. So really isnt VASTLY superior, and not a patch on an AAC stream from the internet.
