Question R1700BT Remote Control Not Working?

I've purchased an R1700BT, so far it all works. I plugged in the cable into PC, turned it on, and both are producing sound. However, when I use the remote to like, wanna increase or mute. It doesn't do anything. I've tried via bluetooth as well. Or am I doing something wrong?

Any help is appreciated.

Doubt it.
At least not if you've got good, correctly inserted batteries, in a handset aimed directly at the infra-red receiver.

Just seen it's a single CR2025 battery.
Is it the right way up?
